Bust a vessel

this occured.
All I remember is trying to smash open a tough plastic container with my foot (heel)...I did manage to open it, but severe leg pain followed.  Wearing long pants, I didn't notice this until much later on.

Is this what old middle age is all about? Spontaneous combustion & random unsolicted bleeding?  I don't wear glasses & my bladder is intact - for now i will accept bruising as my fate.
