Jug

This shot of a Jug with the rain falling behind it was a RAW file shot taken on Saturday 2nd May
It has been converted to jpg today Sunday 3rd.

Saturday was wet and disappointing in many respects. I intended taking photos of some classic cars on display in the town centre but didn't get down there in time - lots of other people seem to have taken those photos and probably with better results than I would have managed.

Watching Newcastle produce possibly the worst performance by a Premier League team this season ( some say ever) didn't help.

Then there was snooker - Murphy winning easily was a shame Hawkins seemed brilliant earlier in the competition.

Then followed a major suprise I switched on Channel4 racing to find the 2000 Guineas was about to run at Newmarket. This shows how little interest I have in Horse Racing now - I didn't even remember it was Guineas weekend.  In years gone by I would at least have known about the main players this time I had only heard of the winner.

Manchester United at tea time  --  so pleased for Darren Fletcher to lead  West Brom to a surprise victory at Old Trafford. There is a wonderful short video on the BBC website which shows him (as captain) lining up his team on the wrong (Man United) side of the tunnel and having to move everyone across to their great amusement.

The cricket proved to be a rollercoaster watch ( in truth I saw very little of it) with my favourite player Jimmy Anderson demolishing the West Indies innings taking 6 wickets. Then the England batsmen failed to take advantage of the lead they had by losing 4 wickets - Yorkshire to the resucue again today Root and Balance there at the start.

The other Snooker semi was exciting (I'm told)  - I watched the last and decding frame which Bingham won seizing the initiative with a clever planted shot on two reds.

Match of the Day  -  Newcastle manager said his defender Mike Williamson got sent off deliberately - getting a 2nd yellow card after making a rash foul on Vardy on the edge of the pitch ( carrying on just over the line) This left Vardy out of control crashing into a TV Camera ( which was thankfully cushioned against impact ). I just went OMG  when it happened so can understand why Carver (NUFC manager) may have come to the conclusion he did.  His team look worthy relegation candidates and who do they play next  -  West Brom!

Played and won Scrabble against my sister whicl Mum an Dad were snookering - it was the best moment of the day.

Bedtime - forgot to blip - so this being typed on Sunday morning with Andrew Marr just finished with disharmony with Farage, Clegg and Cooper all taking at once.  Andrew Neil at 11:00  bring it on!
