Fungus fans

Not much photographic inspiration today. We unintentionally spent most of the morning watching The Aviator on the TV, rather than attending to more pressing concerns. Then I took Kayla for a long walk, to make up for her enforced imprisonment while we wait for the result of Duke's blood test. It was pleasant, and I took some shots of the way rampant vegetation now hides the fallen masonry and tumbled boulders around one of the sources of the 2011 floods, but they wouldn't mean much to anyone who hadn't seen the changes over the last four years. So the fungi win the day (I've just added an extra photo, which shows the colour better, while the more distant view shows the grey fan shape as well).

Duke's energy is practically bursting out of his hide. He was leaping around this morning, having a battle to the death with a sheet of cardboard - this after destroying any other plants, logs or fir cones that I hadn't placed entirely out of his reach. That blood test had better come back negative for distemper.
