Beautiful train ride from Galle to Mirissa

We are going to Mirissa today so make our way to the train station again. It's an easy train journey with beautiful scenery along the coast. It's nowhere near as packed as the last one so we settle into our comfy seats and enjoy it. We almost miss the tiny station of Mirissa as it appears on the opposite side of the train to all the other stations and seems to be in the middle of nowhere. We get off just in time and take a tuk tuk to find our accommodation. We check in then head to the pretty little beach. The waves are massive which makes swimming difficult but you can cool off at least.

In the late afternoon the clouds come over and we head back to our small hut like accommodation. It's basic but very cheap compared to the other places here. We head out to dinner just as the heavens open ... thank goodness for our rain macs once again! We eat another nice rice and curry, wait for the rain to clear, then head back to play backgammon on the terrace outside our hut.  Andy has just taught Fred the game and she's starting to beat him much to his chagrin.
