Minack rehearsals

Working at the Minack Theatre is a an honour that many theatres aspire too. I'm very lucky to work with theatre companies that perform there regularly and I realised today that it already feels like a second home to me.

KidzRUs are performing "The Sound of Music" there this week and I I'm number 1 Sound tech. This is an honour and a very scary responsibility. Already today we have had one catastrophic failure on a sound desk, We had a backup but this required a 2 hour round trip in the car and a total re-wire of the theatre. The Music Director and I had a sense of humour failure when I couldn't get the piano to work over the Public address at 1 minutes notice (after a 3 HOUR TOTAL REWIRE OF THE THEATRE !!!!!).

Anyway, all is now well and I have about 150 photos from today and no time to look at them as I have to get some sleep in before getting back there early tomorrow to test the orchestra tech.

So here is a picture that sums up working at the Minack to me, Phil the director (on the left) giving post show notes to the cast with the amazing backdrop that you never quite get used to.

I am a very stressed but lucky boy :-)
