Fancy berberis

This seems to be a slightly different variety of this very confusing flower - this one is just coming into bloom and has spikes all over its branches. The other ones, without spikes and more leaves, seem to be dying off. But they’ll regrow in a few months. I don’t know if it’s possible for a flower to be tri-annual but it seems like these are!

I’ve had a good relaxing day today, I decided to just stay in and not try anything, not even church, and have a good recharge! I think in general my energy levels are slowly creeping up after that miraculous day last Thursday, despite dipping back down again.
