Spring Treat

The cowslip, a cousin of the primrose is so very delicate and dainty on a single stem.

The loss of traditional meadows, ancient woodlands and hedgerows has put this once native, common wildflower into decline. A beautiful small spring flower, now bobbing in the gentle breeze on our lawn self seeds and we are getting more each year. A great source for nectar for bees, butterflies and moths so for me the more the merrier!

They are edible and if you've got them why not make some cowslip wine?
