Waving the flag.

The British have  welcomed a new princess into the world, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, 4th in line to the throne.

Mrs Talpa being an ardent royalist celebrated the event in style by gently waving the flag that her grandfather waved at Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. It is a bit fragile and past its best and being made of crêpe paper it has stretched over the last 118 years with the result that Victoria is looking a bit long in the face. Nevertheless it seems to have survived another waving! It is now safely stored away to await the next big event.

At the bottom of the flag the manufacturer proudly proclaims that it is made of ENGLlSH crepe paper, none of your nasty imported stuff!
