Ye Olde Tree-e

Today we headed into Sherwood Forest in search of Robin Hood and his merry men. We did find quite a few merry men and the odd Robin Hood, but they were generally under the age of ten and didn't seem to be able to control their bows and arrows very well.

We had a good five mile walk around the forest and managed to get off the beaten track and avoid the crowds of people. It was a lovely walk.

This is Major Oak found in Sherwood Forest. It is believed to be between 800 - 1000 years old and it appears to be a bit too old and tired to keep its branches up, so it's getting a little help these days.
