A shoulder to try on.

Blimey, that was a tough work out. 28.5 miles on the Water of Leith/Pentland Hills trying out my newly-built Cyclocross bike. The verdict? Well I fitted a new front stem and seat this morning and it made a vast difference to the good, and overall it's a comfortable way to work hard on a bike. The Shimano Sora shifters are a bit low rent and they will have to go, but they'll do in the meantime. The cantilever brakes were sound, the tyre grips excellent and towards the end of the ride I felt I could ride over everything. In fact I did, except for Poet's Glen which I'll try again. Best of all though, it's light, so hoisting it on my shoulder was almost a pleasure.
