Bass Rock Gannets

We took the Lady Angela out today to the Bass Rock ...an ancient volcanic plug which sits out in the Firth of Forth and is said to be the largest gannet colony in the world. Today it lived up to its reputation. There were thousands of birds all wheeling round the rock , sitting on the sea or squabbling over nesting sites. Very noisy and very smelly but fabulous.
