Getting out (of the rain)
On the afternoon of the third consecutive day of heavy rain and dense fog we desperately needed to get out of the house. Drove over to Buckfast Abbey in the knowledge that they often have art exhibitions at bank holidays. This time it was a photographic exhibition, and very impressive and inspiring, even if it did reinforce in my mind how very much my photos belong to the 'snapshot' zone.
We didn't visit the abbey this time, but we did pop into the Methodist chapel that sits on the road leading to St Mary's Benedictine Abbey. (The road was originally the main road through Buckfast village.) Mr PP's grandfather would visit the small chapel some Sundays in his capacity of a lay preacher. I love the simplicity of this stained window.
