May Day in Turriff
Colin and I spent the day at the May Day event in Turriff. This year is the 28th time that this event has been held in the town, but somewhat surprisingly the first time we have attended. We were volunteering at the Lib Dem stall, supporting our young candidate in Thursday's election. Thank goodness the weather was so much better than yesterday's which brought out the clouds. Our gazebo was across the road from the SNP caravan and stall, with the Tories up the road a bit. Quite a lot of banter took place and some respectful discussion between the three groups, as it should be. This shot is of the statue of the famous "Turra Coo" which was commissioned a few years ago to mark the events of 1913 when a local farmer and one if his dairy cows became a cause célèbre for taking on the establishment.
