Kilauea Caldera
The volcanoes on Big Island are always active to some degree - last year the Puna district was threatened to be engulfed by lava - but until we arrived there was very little activity visible. Now this crater within the Kilauea Caldera has started to spew out molten lava which can be viewed from the Jaggar museum.
To be honest, it's rather distant (this is with full zoom) but the view through the telescope on the viewing platform was terrific - orange spray and the surrounding surface welling and bubbling.
