Brightly Decorated Streets

Fabulous breakfast here at Pension Marianna on a terrace overlooking the rooftops of the town, the sea and in the not too far distance, the town and mountains at Argos.

Took a walk up to the Venetian fort a short steep walk above our Pension where there was even more stunning views of the Agean and in the scrub there was a carpet of deep red poppies which were covered in buzzing bees. Beautiful.

The day was spent wandering the streets in the old town which the shopkeepers and residents take great care in showcasing with pits of flowers, quirky little adornments and Bougainville draped over the balconys. Such a pretty place.

There is a big square where we would sit in the shade of the big plane tree drinking coffee and big dish of fruit and yogurt.
The highlight of today was seeing two wild tortoises scrambling about in the undergrowth near the castle.

Chilling out before moving on tomorrow.
