Pleasant Pheasant

If you saw one of these on your African Safari you'd be amazed at the colours but you see one here and it's 'just another pheasant'.  Massively underrated as a photo subject, maybe this pic could change some minds.   I was busy photographing the female, drab by comparison but she was basking in the sunshine and looking well camouflaged in the dried grass and shade when I spotted himself lurking in the shadows.  I think he had 'things' on his mind but even after his eventual display of head bowing, creeping slowly towards her and adopting freezing postures she shook herself, got up and haughtily strutted off.
