Bloom of Sun

This single rose fell from a bunch I was given on Saturday (featured in yesterday's entry). I thought at the time that I'd like to photograph it for an entry here, but had other things that came first. I wasn't sure it would last, but popped it in a small bowl of water anyway. It has actually opened further since it got detached from its stalk; I do wonder if it will open into a full-sized bloom. Watch this space ...
