What Happens at Prom...

This weekend, I attended Minersville’s Prom. Their theme was Los Vegas and they played off the famous Los Vegas slogan “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” replacing it with “What happens at prom…..” At Minersville they have their promenade right outside of the venue instead of an alternate location. Before arriving at promenade, a group of us wanted to get pictures together. We stood in front of our prom car (firetruck) and snapped pics for quite a while. Surprisingly, 4 students from my school attended their prom. With a photo both, blow-up guitars and microphones, delicious food, glow sticks, and a raving dance floor, this was one of the best proms this year. The man who ran the photo booth went with my dad the next morning for a bike ride. In his words, my date and I “owned the dance floor.” He said he was surprised our feet didn’t fall off. My prom date was a friend of my two step-brothers. Despite not knowing him very well, we had a blast. He was the highlight of the dance floor with hundreds of improve air guitar solos and break dancing. When we slow danced, we didn’t just sway back and forth like everyone else. My date would twirl me around, dip me back, and spin m out. We even waltzed one time. It was absolutely hilarious. After prom, we went to the after-party at the high school. This party was a catered lock-in from 11:30pm-5am. We played games the whole night such as minute-to-win-it, human version hungry hippos, scavenger hunts, karaoke, basketball and much more. I even won a $10 Dunkin Donuts gift card! Long story short, prom was incredible.
