proud peregrine father

The questions of whether the new male was mature enough to father chicks was answered on Monday when the small points of 2 tiny beaks were seen on Monday as the female started to feed them. The nest isn't visible but long scopes off a nearby hill had seen 2 eggs at the end of March. We now await to see if there are any more. The female continues to do most of the incubating / brooding and the male sits close by keeping a close eye. I am now hoping for more action over the coming weeks as the hungry chicks grow.

In the #BTCB there are still 7 eggs and my prediction of seeing the first chick today is looking unlikely with the clock ticking away. Mother blue tit is being very attentive and only leaves the nest briefly for essentials.
