RSS Discovery, Dundee
Twin 1 was visiting Abertay Uni on an open day, and partner and I decided to have a day off, and we all went up to Dundee for the day.
The weather was quite good, and this was the first photo I took as we walked from the railway station. There was lots of construction on the waterfront, the new V&A gallery will be here. Then again, every time I have visited Dundee, this area always seems to be in a state of redevelopment anyway
As the morning was shorter, we wandered around the shops. IT was quite quiet in the centre. It was also quite nice getting shots of Desperate Dan and Minnie the Minx.
In the afternoon, we visited the RSS Discovery. IT was quite good learning about not only about the ship's the first expedition with Scott to survey the Antarctic, but of subsequent voyages and its involvement in the World Wars and its decommissing and eventual rehousing back to the city where it was built. Wwll worth a visit.
