Really Villa should have been out of sight by half time, the blues white & purples looked like a team that had already finished their season. Villa had more energy, more purpose and more desire.
That said, Everton were also unlucky not to get a point out of the game with the scrappy chances they did have, especially in the second half.
That would have been an undeserved point though, Villa were simply the better team...unfortunately.

After the game at Goodison, this was actually the return leg of the brothers' football trip this season and this time it was my turn to sit on my hands with the home fans.
I was obviously looking forward to it.
The real reason for the grumpy expressions was the drizzly, cold, miserable weather. It's May!!!

After the match, with one of us a bit happier, we headed off into town for a curry and a couple drinks before heading home to watch the highlights.
