Green on green
The mind, that ocean where each kind
Does straight its own resemblance find,
Yet it creates, transcending these,
Far other worlds, and other seas;
Annihilating all that’s made
To a green thought in a green shade.
-- Andrew Marvell, The Garden
Down at the garden, which is a jungle of green, albeit lacking Marvell's ripe apples, nectarine, melons, and curious peach.
We were back at the Centre Culturel this evening, to see Le Cercle des Illusionistes. This was very well done, but closer to a conventional play than I expected. Hugo Cabret was good preparation, since this too was based on the life of Georges Méliès, and we were able to appreciate the many references to his life and films (including another chance to see some of them). A further reminder that there are always people who will find a way of making their dreams reality through art.
