Innovation space

Tonight went to a documentary and panel discussion on disruptive social financing for poverty alleviation. The major innovation is one of scale: pairing Brazil's Bolsa Familia, a conditional cash transfer (a mother receives monies on the condition that she and her children go to public health clinics to receive regular medical care and her kids go to school) with financial education delivered via tablet and a savings account at a bank. The genius part is that with luck the 25 million or so families (I think this number is right) who are receiving Bolsa Familia can now get some financial savvy to smooth out the economic bumps and precipices. And the program is being tried elsewhere, not only Latin America but also Asia and Africa.
The camera died shortly after Budapest but I've been distracted by 24 Chopin preludes. Last Haiti trip (March) photos well received by my fellow travelers and I have the promise of going around with my favorite Haitian in the near future to visit clients and photograph - I have finally figured out what it is I want to capture - yay!
