A good use
The foot tall stack of ten year old Photoshop and gardening magazines I've kept around saw their end a new beginning. For years, I've had the goal to go through them carefully, tear out articles, and recycle the rest. Instead, I had an idea brewing and was on the hunt for a specific palette of colors. The pages were cut and folded into strips that are then woven. It isn't an original idea but the exclusion of black and white pages and unnatural colors is a tiny bit of a departure from the random weaves I've seen. The basket is surprisingly sturdy and I'm sure a few coats of polyurethane will make it even more so.
Possibilities? Endless. Or as many as old magazines that you have. I'm very tempted to exercise even more palette control and shop for highly discounted wallpaper. Not enough hours in the day.
