"Shadow Government"
Double shadow SP!
At 4.49 a.m. votes and results still coming in and no obvious winner as yet, though patterns are emerging.
You Brit guys and gals will know for certain, probably, what that result will be, when you get to look at this Blip.
But it has been a long night. Channel 4's coverage was fun and exciting with frontsman Jeremy Paxman, the NEW comedian, his waspish and fiendish traits let loose to new heights.
At 1.30, I switched over to BBC1, back to normal, boring but sensible and easily followable presenting.
By 3.30, and I was getting bored. With heavy cloud and possible rain by daybreak, I took my camera for a walk. Blip, maybe?
I had emailed blipper Freespiral about Druid King Arthur Pendragon, who is standing as an Independent in Salisbury and whom I had voted for. I told her that the local venue for declaration was Salisbury's City Hall, which is a short walk, for me. I said that I'd have a nosey...
Lots of cars parked nearby, very unusual for 4 a.m.! And, it can't be every day to see a flowing white robed figure, in full regalia, the Chief Druid and his wife, walking back into the Hall, and out of the cold dark empty city night. I heard her tell a friend of theirs, who had asked if they were about to be summonsed inside, she replied not yet, but soon.
I peered inside and in theory, there were no security actually stopping anyone from going in, but their friend stood resolutely outside. And, would I really want to go inside when I didn't really want to be among that lot - politicians in general, I mean. I was hardly feeling at my perkiest, after all, by this time. A number of police vehicles parked outside signified that the boys in blue were around as well. I didn't fancy a tumble with them...
So, I mooched back home, slowly, and tried a few fisheye shots under the streetlights. This was one of the better ones! Shooting at full aperture on the Nikkor D 16mm f2.8 fisheye, handheld at 1/4sec, I did need to sharpen it and to emphasise those curved shadowy lines, whacked up the contrast, which in turn upped the colour.
Getting this Blip now allows me to sleep in late and to not need bother with taking another photo til Saturday. DO check out my rapeseed field Blip yesterday if you haven't yet seen it.
