Flotillaette

Ok, it may not have the pomp and ceremony of the stuff going on down on the Thames - great boat crash telly that was this afternoon; cringeworthy commentary, technical hitches, a potential social services enquiry into pensioner abuse and, as Samantha so perfectly just put it, a bit of a damp squid of a money shot - but at least it didn't rain here on the River Forth.

We headed up to the Stirling Boat Club for the advertised time the flotilla was meant to leave but they'd already gone, so headed back down to The Shore back in Alloa and stood with the crowds (talking double figures here) and waited a half hour for the first boat to come by. It shot past over on the other side of the river and gave the four sheep there a good view, five minutes later another two came along, one of which that detoured a bit closer to acknowledge the waves of the people gathered. Finally, those two up there sneaked by.

Woohoo.

Back to work tomorrow and then off again on Tuesday for the Queen's Golden Jubilee. Cheers for that ma'am, long may you rain.
