It is Friday & a tribute

Last night at Burgundy's it was the Mervyn Bean Quartet.  At the outset there was a most sad announcement - Les Bull had died suddenly last sunday.  With his Jazz Band Les Bull was a regular visitor to Burgundy's and this Jazz Band has been highly regarded and sought after in the northwest. 
So it was a strange evening as everybody came to terms with this news.  The sketching suffered too - after Peter (friend from the Isle of Man) bought me yet another beer, I just did not manage to paint Mervyn - but this is one I did earlier! -   Mervyn Bean.

With Mervyn were Peter Kassell (in the sketch on guitar), Mike Kidson (drums) and Steve Wildgoose (bass)
