Camassia

Flower Friday again, and I was hoping that this would be in out in time.
Camassia . A genus of plants in the asparagus family, native to Canada and the Untited States.
They were an important staple food for Native Americans, and Settlers in parts of the American Old West.
The bulbs were pit -roasted , looking and tasting something like a sweet potato but sweeter. When dried the bulbs could be pounded into flour.
Well these are not going to be eaten, as they make a nice splash of blue in the corner of our garden.
