The Raped Countryside

On a day like today, there seems nothing to do except get away from the pestilential media, the blame casting, and even (especially) the astonished gasps and indignation on social media. Today is a day for walking out into the still green and pleasant landscape. Tomorrow is time enough to get back to politicking and mitigation. The rape is of course in the fields, everywhere around here, hence the title. I wouldn't want anyone to think I was making a political comment. Oh no.
