Caught Short

We went to Waddesdon Manor today to meet up with BlackTulip, Anniemay, Igor, Hildasrose and her faithful assistant, Chantler63 and Radiogirl.
We all took loads of photos and ate cake, got told off for putting a bean bag on a table( One of us, not saying who!) and chatted a lot .
Waddesdon is a splendid monument to wealth and opulence. It has belonged to the Rothschild family for years and contains priceless collections of antiques, porcelain, furniture, paintings etc etc, and has many historical connections and tales to tell.
I rather liked this little chamber pot or commode in one of the bedrooms.
I suppose you would need one if your room was miles from the nearest freezing cold bathroom, down draughty corridors. Especially if you had a maid to empty it!
