Windswept, wet and so worth it!

Half day today, and Mr U&L and I went out late afternoon to have another sneak peek at the Green winged orchids
Anacamptis morio, growing in one of the local-ish churchyards.
The Green winged or Green veined orchid, is superficially similar to the far more common Early purple orchid, but it differs in having plain green unspotted leaves and green veins on the two outer sepals, or wings (hence the common name).
Green winged orchids are classified as near threatened in the UK so seeing so many today in various shades of purple and pink was a real pleasure.... even if it did start pouring with rain and I ended up sopping wet from crawling around in the soggy grass to get a decent shot!!
I have included an extra shot of me lying in the undergrowth trying to get a picture....taken by Mr U&L who thought it was hysterical!! The moral of this story....never ask your other half to hold your spare camera!
