Parenting Class.
So the appointment at the hospital was for a parenting class. (They could've told us in the letter that's what it was and that we were going to be there over 6 hours!!!)
Anyway, the midwife taking the course was very good and funny, and the day went quite fast.
Lots and lots of information (some of it I wish I had known when I was having my children!)
They were shown how to put on nappies, wrap a baby in a shawl and breast feed, hence the doll and the knitted breast, (the knitted breast was a bit unnecessary).
We then had a visit around the birthing unit (that used to be the labour ward) and finally the maternity ward, where every mother gets her own room, and the husbands can stay with them.
All very nice, more like a hotel than a hospital, and this is a public one not private.
So all in all a worthwhile day, and I was glad I was able to go.
