A sense of Croatia

I've had a sense of Croatia, a taster of a life in the Adriatic of intense colour, of tastes and smells, of heat and passion.

I found a people that were easy going, eager to talk, yet kind, gentle and respective. Confident to dress themselves and their cities well, yet not to the exclusion of the humble tourist.

It is hard to think of the terrors that were visited upon them and this area just over 20 years ago and it makes no sense to see a gleaming Dubrovnik benefiting from new terracotta tiled roofs because the old ones got blown off.

This mish mash of mankind, our ability to balance such beauty with such horror, yes this, right here, is the world in which we live.

We will most certainly return.
