Death of a building

Demolition of the 1930s tenements on Canongate has started. First stage is the removal of the windows, which takes away the last vestige of life from the facade - dark gaps instead of light-reflecting glass.

Some facades will be retained but the new road being created must mean at least one or more buildings will disappear.
