Mother's Day
It's International Mother's Day, the US invention. here in KL it was #1 d in l's firts Mother's Day and she was given flowers and chocolate dragees and a card by her lovely daughter.
Otherwise it was a quiet day. My phone is still dead. Olivia and I swam in the morning. I printed off documents for Vietnam and in the afternoon sewed (a wee bit) listened to mt gory book and than swam, properly.
This evening the 6 (plus 1) of us went to Desa Parkcity for a Mother's Day meal. Malaysian this time. I had beef rendang laksa, very spicy, mmm!
Desa Parkcity is a new development on the edge of KL to the NW. It is gated and high rise and feels a bit like Stepford Wives. The demographic is very much young families, the vast majority of Chinese ethnicity. We were in the outside shopping area beside Central Park, beside a lake. There were dogs, pavements, dogs, kids playing, dogs, people walking on pavements, dogs and people running, on pavements. Very unMalaysian!
We came via Segambut, the kampong next to Mont' Kiara. that is a very different place.
Off to pack my few bits and pieces for my few days away.
