Park Semiramis* ...

This is the fountain in the park Semiramis in the district Oosterflank in the district Alexanderpolder in Rotterdam.

I chose for a long exposure shot and a version in black and white because of the sharp contrasts because of the bright sunlight in the afternoon.

It's best seen in LARGE ... ;)

*Semiramis was the daughter of an Assyrian goddess who married an Assyrian king. After his death she ruled for many years and became one of the founders of Babylon. She is thought to have been based on the historical queen Sammuramat ( circa 800 bc ).
