Was It Really So Long Ago

May Queens

Today promised to have the best weather of the bank holiday weekend so we chose to pay a visit to Flatford, a tiny hamlet just over the border in Suffolk, immortalised in Constable's painting 'The Haywain'.

We rose early / late, Master H preferred the early shift and Beloved who'd enjoyed his company all weekend whilst I was away in the Cotswolds, wisely chose to sleep on. I prepared and packed a picnic which we consumed at a table in the delightful RSPB garden amongst wildflowers and wildlife. The sun shone on us all afternoon, through May crown making at Valley Farm (for Misses I and C) and wandering through the beautiful countryside nature trail.

A fine relaxing day, just as a bank holiday should be - with the family.
