"Live": Verb or Adjective?

The young lad and I drove around Coventry train station twice, for no real reason.  We wanted to look at the demolition-in-progress of the horrible 1970s buildings.  This one's (1 Copthall House) death is imminent.  The preparation seems to involve identifying and making clear the areas of the building with live power circuits.  Or maybe there is a protest to save these classic 1960s buildings?
