At the Historical Junction Point

The stage coaches stopped right here when the mail  (and passengers) came through. The Ithaca line went west to East and the line through Oxford to Binghamton ran to the South.
Although the stagecoaches were uncomfortable and took  bit longer, at least they provided transportation. It is not so easy to get out west to Ithaca now since there is no public transportation that I know of.
This sign is right across the street from the old post office still in operation.
In the distance you can see the flowering crabapple trees that are all planted along South Washington Street. It is paved better than when the coaches ran along it.

We are having record breaking hot weather. 82ºF today and 84º yesterday. Those are "summer" temperatures for us.  A local wag said that if she knew spring was only going to last three days she would have paid more attention.
All the flowering trees seem to have popped out in bloom at the same time.
My lilacs are trying to open and will by Tuesday. And we have had no rain at all. I planted the bean seeds, nasturtiums, a few Swiss chard seeds, and potatoes in hopes of rain to water then. I have many little seedlings waiting in the new greenhouse. I have planted a couple of Winter Luxury squash plants, & a Savoy cabbage. Otherwise I am going to wait for the rain to soften and wet the soil to receive them.
So, after we had the "record breaking" winter, now this spring that looks like summer, is called "record breaking also!!
Global change has arrived in Central NY.
