Caught in The Act!

I woke up to the sound of the dawn chorus at 4.30 this morning and found it hard to go back to sleep. I did briefly consider getting up and going for a sunrise walk for Mono Monday's Twilight Zone, but it was way too early!

I did do the 'Adam' walk before breakfast and was amazed at how warm it was. I was also amazed at how many lizard rustlings I could hear as my shadow passed over the undergrowth.

I heard and manged to capture this woodpecker on a tree above the stilling pond. I'm thrilled as I really didn't think I'd got him. I also saw a male black cap and a white butterfly which I've put on Flickr as I don't want to use up my extras too soon!
