Liberation Day in Guernsey ... (70 years ago today - 9th of May - Guernsey was liberated from German occupying forces at the end of World War 2) ... :o)

There were all sorts of amazing activities arranged to celebrate this special day in the islands history ... cavalcades, street parties and firework displays to mention just three ... :o)

Unfortunately, however, I'd been up since before sunrise and having spent most of the morning working none stop in and around the town area where most of the celebrations were to take place, I was just pleased to get away from it all ... :o|

One prayer that was answered though, was for the weather to be kind ... and so it was ... :o)
