Serpentine

This is what is called the "Serpentine" in Rothesay.  It  winds up the hill from Castle St and past the Council offices.  You can see the route on the blipfoto map.

The link gives the historic and architectural  detail but what I love about the town is the fact that it is not perfectly planned but instead has evolved.   The area around the Castle is the core and although some of the rest has suffered in recent years there is now some significant restoration underway.

It was day of sunshine and heavy showers on Bute but the colours were fine and this view always fascinates me, especially in sunlight.

I was on the island  for a surgery and a number of meetings this afternoon  after a morning that started with a humanist funeral for the partner of a long term SNP activist in Dunoon and went on  to include a discussion on ferries and much constituency correspondence.

However  on the streets the day was dominated with people wanting to talk about the remarkable result last Thursday .   There is a lot of pleasure in it for most, and a lot of hope and expectation too.

Big day for me too  in terms of new opportunities but I will blip about that tomorrow after I have spent part  of the morning in Glasgow University.
