Kath's Journal

Coniston

Went with the Walking Club to Coniston but it was a grey, drizzly day. I decided to do my own thing, and so walked down to the lake and bought a day ticket for the north and south cruise boats. (The Gondola was too expensive.) So that's how I stayed warm, dry and happy. I got off occasionally to take photographs and visit the cafes but for the most part I just sailed up and down the lake all day. There weren't many people around, and on three of the journeys I had the cruise boat all to myself. There were lots of birds around the shores and I couldn't resist photographing them. An enjoyable peaceful day with some exercise but not a lot.
