Secret Pathway

When I got to Metheringham today, I noticed this path leading into the wooded area by the railway, and I can't understand how I'd never noticed it before - unless it was fenced off! I walked along it a little way, and there was a post with a public footpath sign, and another sign at the entrance pointing down it. If it is a public footpath it should not really have been fenced off! If I'd had more time I would've liked to explore it some more.
