LAST POST

Not a lot of folk know this . . . but there were 6 sizes of Royal Mail Box – A, B, C, D, E and F size.

I thought that this was just an old pillar box – wrong !

It is a Post Office Wall Box – used for the Royal Mail indeed ! This one dates from around 1937. My research suggests that this is a size A – and so it was manufactured by  Carron & Co, Falkirk, Scotland.

Must rush – soon be time for collection !
