The wonder of Shetland
I work up in Shetland for two weeks of every month.
It is a "thin" place.
It has an ethereal wonder all of its own - even when the weather is dreadful, which it frequently is during the winter.
At the moment, it does not get fully dark - this was taken at about 11 at night. That's the moon lighting the water.
It's a tough place to photograph, but the key is capturing its elemental components - sky, sea, rock, cloud, earth and light.
I love it here. It has a transcendent peace that I've found nowhere else in my life.
