Abandoned golf course
Today was the first time I have ever been to a golf course on a lovely sunny day and not seen one other person. It was a bit spooky. The sky was blue, the fairways were green - it was beautiful. But no one was there.
I'm not a golfer any longer. I stopped by to have a quick cup of coffee with my friend who is runs the restaurant at the golf course, before I was off to the store to pick up more tomatoes for my spaghetti sauce. I cooked for J's men's group tonight - all 80 of them. I made homemade spaghetti with a nice green salad. My spaghetti sauce is made from scratch - fresh tomatoes, freshly ground beef and pork, fresh onions and garlic, red wine and sherry. Oh there are a few other things in the sauce, but I won't bore you with the details. If you want the recipe, just let me know. I wasn't there, but J says the guys loved it. They polished off all four full sheet pans along with the fresh salad and J's famous salad dressing. Good eats!
This photo was taken using my circular polarizer. I took a bracket of three exposures, and chose the best exposure. In processing, I then increased the contrast just a little, and desaturated the shot. Finally, using Silver Efex (one of the Google Nik plug ins to Photoshop), I converted it to black and white. I chose the balanced preset, then increased the depth and structure slightly. I re-sized the photo, and ... there you have it.
Thank you for all of your lovely comments on yesterday's Sierra Buttes blip. You are all so kind! I do appreciate it.
