Diamond Dog
It was impossible to choose a representative image from all those I took yesterday when taking part in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant. But I love this little dog on one of the rowing boats that came past our anchored boats before the start so that the manpowered boats could be at the front of the fleet.
Our little boat, the Whitby coble, Gratitude, was pretty exposed in the downpour which drenched all of the boats in the late afternoon. But it didn't stop us making some cups of Yorkshire tea.
Gratitude belongs to Alan Richmond, our skipper, assisted on the day by Andrew and Caroline Pindar and their children, George and Zoe.
Andrew had organised the pageant entry at the request of Baron Crathorne, Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire. The rest of the crew was made up of Paul Rose, explorer, David Pougher who works for Yamaha motors and lives in Scarborough, and your's truly.
I'm going to fill this gallery in the next day or two, so if you were in the pageant or knew anyone who was there come back and check it out.
