N (Nitrogen)

The farmers were fertilising the wheat this morning.  Little balls of nitrogen are flicked out behind the tractor.

They were in a  hurry to get it done before the rain came which would dissolve the little balls before they were flicked, making a sticky mess....Rain just after they've been flicked is perfect timing, and I think their timing was pretty good.

Sam brought home a delicious apple crumble which he made at school, and then made 'Rocky Road' tonight.  We still haven't eaten all the blueberry muffins he made last night.  He really enjoys cooking (like his Dad), so moving forward I will be trying to encourage production of meals rather than fattening snacks..

First GCSE's for Ben today, French and Biology &  I'm on high alert for anxiety symptoms.  Ben is usually a calm conciliator in our family and when he is stressed and unreasonable  it permeates the whole family and we are all thoroughly rattled.  However, he thinks today's exams went OK and is tired but not anxious.

Chemistry GCSE next, chemistry knowledge is useful for chemistry exams, farming and cooking.

N is for Nitrogen.
