aren't they just the - very cutest ever? - it is difficult to resist them - they are so unassuming - fluffy and cuddly - you just wanna scoop 'em up - put 'em in a pocket - bring them home - where it is safe and warm - for these are from - a second nesting - the 1st which i'd been watching - reporting in this journal on - last week, even posted their - 1st official family portrait - was so excited over them - being born, surviving time along - the trail side with the nest...

well - today going to check on them - mama & papa goose were all alone - sort of bereft - nest empty - no baby goslings of theirs - to be seen - no one to tell me - what happened to them - i can only surmise with - our recent very bad storms - perhaps they drowned with the fast rising - water of the little lake - or maybe the herons - ended up getting all - of them - my heart is broken for the parent geese - watching papa drift aimlessly - around in the water - as though looking for his young

i couldn't post that shot - had to post a hopeful one - from the other nesting - to show there is a - life cycle with nature - with grief always comes - a glimmer of new beginnings - a promise things will pick up - get better, go on - and we can always believe again in...
